Terms of use

These terms cover your use of poollock.com. They are not the terms on which we sell a cover. Those are set out in the quotation and the order confirmation, and where the two disagree, the quotation wins.

Who you are dealing with

By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using it.

What this site is for

It describes what we make, helps you work out which cover suits your pool, and lets you ask for a written quotation. It is information and a way of starting a conversation. It is not a shop, and nothing on it can be bought here.

A quotation is not a contract

Asking for a quotation places you under no obligation, and sending you one places us under none either. A quotation is an invitation to discuss the work, not a binding offer. A contract exists only when we confirm your order in writing.

Every quotation is prepared from what you tell us. Final dimensions, the condition of the pool and the surrounding structure are confirmed on site before anything is built, and a price can change once they are. If it changes we will tell you why, in writing, before any work starts.

Product information

We try to keep descriptions, drawings and specifications accurate and current. Drawings on this site are schematic. They show how a system works, not how your pool will be built, and they are not construction drawings.

Colours shown on a screen are indicative. Screens differ, and a canvas or slat colour should be chosen from a physical sample rather than from this site.

We may change a specification where a supplier changes a component or a standard is revised. Where that affects a quotation you already hold, we will tell you.

Safety

A PoolLock cover forms a solid barrier over the water surface and is built to carry the weight of a child who walks onto it. It reduces risk. It does not remove it, and it does not replace supervision of children around water. Nothing on this site should be read as saying that a covered pool is a pool that can be left unwatched.

A cover protects as designed only while it is correctly installed, closed and maintained. Installation and servicing instructions are part of the product, not optional advice.

The partner area

Parts of this site are for trade partners and need a sign-in. If you hold an account, keep the details to yourself, use them only for your own business with us, and tell us at once if you think somebody else has them. We may suspend access where an account is shared or misused, or where an account relationship has ended.

Prices and documents in the partner area are commercially confidential and are given to you for quoting and installing our products, not for publication.

What you may and may not do here

You are welcome to read this site, print pages for your own use, and share links to it.

Please do not attempt to gain access to any part of the site you have not been given, interfere with how it runs, introduce anything malicious, scrape it systematically to rebuild it elsewhere, or use it in any way that breaks the law. Any of these may lead to us withdrawing access and, where appropriate, reporting the matter.

The name, the pictures and the words

The PoolLock name and logo, and the text, photographs and drawings on this site, are owned by us or used with our permission. You may not reuse them commercially without asking first. Asking is usually enough: trade partners who want product photography for a quotation or a stand should write to us and we will normally say yes and send better files than the ones on the site.

Other websites

We link to other companies in our group and occasionally to outside sources. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for what they contain or what they do with your information. A link is not an endorsement of everything on the far side of it.

Availability

We do not promise that this site will always be available or free of faults. We may change it, suspend it or withdraw parts of it without notice. It is provided as it is, and while we take reasonable care over the information on it, we do not warrant that every part of it is complete or current at every moment.

Where our responsibility begins and ends

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit. We would not want to limit the first of those even if we could.

Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows: we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website; and we are not liable for decisions taken solely on the basis of information on this site rather than on a written quotation and a site survey.

If you are using the site as a consumer rather than for a business, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.

Personal information

What we do with anything you send us is set out in the privacy notice, and what this site stores on your device is in the cookie policy. Both are short and worth the two minutes.

Changes to these terms

We may revise this page. The date at the top changes when we do, and the version in force is the one published when you use the site.

Law

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.
